This material mills easely, doesn’t need lubrication and is rather cheap but needs sealing before the molding process.
The sealing phase involves spraying 1 or 2 thin gelcoat layers and polishing.
Spraying the gelcoat will cause some small fillets to form beteen the parting plane and the plugs.
The channel around the plug is there to collect the paint fillets and will be filled with good quality modelling clay before moldmaking.
The molds will be made with 2 types of gelcoats. 1 very hard for the parting plane and edges and 1 softer (polishable) for the mold itself.
the thickness is build with glass/epoxy and “<span style=‘font-size:14pt;line-height:100%’>mold pasta</span>”.
