Some news from Italy
Hello Pilots and NC,
here are some news to the WASG 2008 in Fano.
1. the Organisation team has changed. I think ( I had no other answer) that Peppe is still the chief of the organisation. But he do not like write English mails. In the last four month, I made my discussions with Carlo. But he has his home 600 km far away from Fano. Now I have a new contact direct in Fano. It is Stefano.
2. The Organisation team has this mail address. For all questions, I can not answer: email@example.com
3. The field is prepared for more than 40 tents. I have the misgiving, that can be very narrow for all the 80-100 people, who has made the sign for airfield camping in the application. Showers and (not drinking water) and toilets will be there, too.
4. At the airfield will be 220 V for charging accumulators. I hope, that we have power enough for all the charging toys and beer coolers on the field.
5. There are some different information about the frequencies, we can use in Italy. I put a list inside the German forum, where we can get problems. ( http://www.dk-modelltechnik.de/forum3/view...4c17f028b#p9880 )
6. I create at the last month the pilots round into a system, that only one pilot of one nation flies in every heat. And he gets a pilot judge from a different country. Please rest on your frequency until I send a direct mail to you, if I want to have a change.
7. For the models application I send you a different mail, because I need some time to prepare a document. In this I write, how we can measure it, according to the rules.
8. We make a measuring of diameters, the weight and the engine power. I try to make it as simple as possible. But we must do it, to have all the same chances at this big contest.
9. In the last month I set some workflows of application and the contest workflow with your tasks inside the forum.
10. There are some direct questions from some pilots to our rules. These questions can we solve at the team leaders meeting before the contest.
11. My beg to all pilots. In the rule 3.1 is a sentence ( No protruding devices may exist on the front leading edge of the wing, stabilizer and fin.) This is one point we have to discuss. In all nations the pilots use sandpaper, crystals, needles glue and so on. Some things can be dangerous. Please come with a clean wing or be prepared to clean it at Fano. The last word to this theme is the decision of the team leaders.
12. Now the last and most exiting subject: The organization team want to have some money before the contest. They had had bad experiences with FAI Contests in the past. And they are not willing or able to finance it in advance. Their first demand was to pay the whole contest fee at once. This was canceled by me. We got a compromise: Every NC collect 30 Euro from every pilot and send it to a bank account until the 6.July 2008. The numbers will be announced soon. I see some problems with such extra work. My detailed questions of what we get for our money, was in work since two weeks in Italy. For me, we must different between the WWI and WWII Contest and the people in the hotels and on the airfield. There are a lot of unanswered questions. In the past, we do not need a paying before. As soon I have more information to this problem, I send you the next mails.
